The Mis-Adventures of JC...the Cruise (part 3: Costa Maya)

Costa Maya is off the coast of Mexico, just south of Cozumel. It's a pretty new area, and there wasn't much developed other than the port. We figured the Florida Cruise Association probably built the port ... and the city is being built around it (at least the coastal part). If you are in the market for real estate, you may want to buy in Costa Maya. I give it two years and then hotels will be up and down that coast!!
At Costa Maya, we did a tour of the Mayan Ruins of Chacchoben. It was about an hour drive from the port, but we got a great history of Costa Maya and the Mayan population.

The Mayans built these temples...it was amazing to see them! Of course they had been "fixed' over the years, but you could still see where the original parts were.

One of the many infamous JC Self Portraits!

After the tour, we got a "box lunch". It was a ham & cheese sandwich on white bread, an orange, ritz sandwich crackers, some Mexican chips and a moon pie-like cookie. My chips were lime flavored. Jason's were "cheetos Hamburgesas" which were shaped like little hamburgers. Weird!

The port at Costa Maya.
